I'm not trying to be a jerk, seriously, I just made my peace with how SU fans are long ago. Here's a story that makes my point... when I was an undergrad SU hoops played an NCAA tourney game in Austin vs. Arkansas. People may remember said game as "the one where Lawrence Moten called a time out we didn't have". The crowd that day was mostly Texas fans, and man oh man, did they HATE Arkansas. I was there as a member of the Sour Sitrus Society and I like to say that the best Syracuse crowd I ever played for was the Texas fans hating Arkansas that game. A bunch of them came down to me to ask what the words of the SU fight song were to sing it. They chanted "Let's Go Orange" with reckless abandon. They asked me what the SU hand sign was (ala "Hook 'Em Horns") so they could do it. Of course, I had to tell them there was none. It was just sooooooo different than any SU crowd I've ever seen, not because they're from the south, but because they cared and they culturally were into stuff like songs and cheers. SU fans aren't.
