My impression of that stadium is that it is big, and tall, so that the field is enclosed as if in a canyon.  Gets nice and loud. The Dome lacks the sheer scale of Auburn's field, but it is louder when the place is rocking.  At a big open air stadium there is a "heavy" feel to the crowd noise, where you can tell that there are a gazillion people yelling.  But the decibels top out and it's not as intimidating.  In a full Dome, the effect is that you've got 50,000 people packed into a phone booth with you, and they are shouting right into your ears.  It doesn't feel as "heavy" but it is sharper and louder.

The loudest noise I have ever heard at an outdoor stadium was at Legion Field for the opening round soccer game at the '96 Olympics.  The US took the ball down and scored a goal in the first 30 seconds and the place erupted, spontaneous berserk.  The Dome is louder.
