Clemson SB Nation blogger already whinning B'ing & moaning about Syracuse

Just like Big East schools didn't like it when DePaul, Marquette and others came into the Big East once BC, VT, and Miami left. You can't expect ACC schools to love the fact Pitt and SU are coming. In a couple years when games start being played all this stuff will be forgotten.

Clemson will beat up on us in football. SU will beat up on them in basketball. The world will keep moving on

Could it be that 41-0 beat down we gave them in the Gator Bowl or the fact we whupped a team that demolished them this year?

Or that we beat the team that just set bowl records against their consistently overrated program.

Honestly, if all of these teams are so upset, why don't they just go to the SEC? Oh yeah, because the SEC doesn't want them. When the SEC chooses Missouri over you, and you're not even in the discussion, it should probably say something to you.

I recall Syracuse being on the losing end of their last encounter.

And we beat them the last time we met in football. Those games were EXCEPTIONS and not the rule with future encounters! Pretty safe to say that don't ya think?!

I love ow they think they are like Alabama in football but havnt won since when, the 80's? I would like at ask these fools one question if the ACC is so sorry in football why cant they keep there tough OOC schedule since those are the only tough games on there schedule.

Yeah that's when the home boy NIT crew got together in a little room and said, you know what, the NCAA screwed them so why don't we screw them too. Give Clemson a home game even though SU deserves it. We would have doubled the attendance for that game too.

Clemson played WV this year. SU played WV this year. What were the scores of those games again? Just checkin

At least Pitt and SU are bringing in programs with FB tradition, which coming into the ACC, will only become enhanced. Both Pitt and SU may never be more than than mid-to-upper pack FB programs, but I doubt either one embarrasses themselves as regular bottom feeders. Both programs will make the league stronger all the way around. BTW, if wishes were horses, My Atlantic Divisonal make-up would be SU, BC, UNC, Duke, VT, Miami, and MD. I'm sure Panther fans wouldn't approve, but a lot of renewed rivalries there, and I just like NC and Duke better of the 4 Carolina schools.

Clemson and probably FSU will be in the SEC when it all ends.

I agree with the blogger. For Clemson (SC), FSU (Fla), Ga Tech (UGA), and MD (if they keep WV yearly) having 9 conference games sucks (also Pitt can only have one of PSU, ND, or WV a year). Those schools will have 10 BCS games built into their schedule every year. Add in the 1AA and there is only one slot left for scheduling. Since they all play 10 BCS games as it is, that 12th game is likely to be a non BCS cupcake. So they are playing the same 10 teams EVERY year with no chance at adding an interesting BCS game. That sucks for their fans as well as the sport of CFB in general.

That would suck if it happened. In an ideal world I would love to see 4 conferences of 18. One in the West (P12), one in the North (B1G), one in the South (SEC), and one in the East (ACC). Each conference has 3 divisions of 6 and everyone plays 9 conference games. The 3 division winners plus the best second place finisher move on to the conference championships. Then the conference champ from the West plays the North. And the East plays the South. Finally the NCG pits those winners against each other. So it would be a four week playoff.

Also I would like to see these 72 schools split off into their own division. The other 50 or so 1A schools would be in a separate classification. There are about 125 1AA schools so those 50 can add maybe 40 or so schools. That would make both 1A and 1AA have around 90 teams in each. So the BCS schools would then have to schedule at least 2 OOC games vs BCS schools. They would only be allowed 1 OOC game vs the D1A schools. This makes the regular season even better as every school would play 11 BCS games a year vs some only playing 8 currently.

What makes you think that? Just curious if you've heard rumblings.

There are always rumors of those 2 looking elsewhere. But I have been a longtime believer that in the end there will be 16 team conferences.

Seriously doubt this ever happens. They don't want them. Could have had them by now. They add nothing. Already have a team in South Carolina with an 80,000 seat stadium, rabid following, and moderate success on the football field. Already have northern Florida locked up as well.

If they wanted to raid the ACC and thought they could be successful, they'd go after UNC (or NC State if UNC is married to Duke) and VT before they'd go after Clemson/FSU. There's a reason why aTm and Mizzou were the choices. New states, new markets.

You can almost look at it as 7 repeating opponents, and the other 2 are almost like a non conference. The pool of teams may be repetitive but you're only going to play them once every 3 years.

The worst thing about the 9 game schedule is going back to the unbalanced approach. On the 5 road game years, you have to get all 3 OOC games at home just to get to the minimum desired # of 7.

But for SU, given that we've been stuck in 5 OOC game hell that's involved such terrible scrambling for 1AAs, I welcome the 9 games. I think now that every major conference will have 8 or 9 conference games, they should ban 1AA's all together. And if they won't do that, then just make it so 1AAs are not bowl eligible wins under any circumstances. Plus having 7 games as the eligibility would be good. That would help keep college football interesting more than anything else.

For now those were the next 2 best choices for new states. When it goes to 16 is another story.
