...'Cuse first loss that year on a 60' 3pt by Jackson...but the true winner was a 6'2 speedy guard named Norris Cole...16pts, 6assts,5bds,2stls....

Was picked-up in second round by Miami...who also was looking at Andy...went to see him against Boston last night...WOW...20 points,4assts and 3 steals in 29 minutes...he outscored the rest of the Miami team in the fourth quarter with 14 points including the last 6 to hold the lead...

Great game...a rookie outshined James and Wade and Bosh...crowd was chanttng MVP as he stepped to the foul line with 9 seconds left...and just as I remembered that game vs. 'Cuse I was surprised that a not overly respected player seems to have caught the fire of a winner...a 4 year college player...nothing special...Right!

This story brings to mind Eastern Michigan's Earl Boykins who was part of a team that beat Syracuse in te old Carrier Classic then went onto a long career in the NBA.

ive done everything i could to block that cleveland st game out of my memory

I was vacationing in Costa Rica in 2009 and happen to run into Gary Waters and his wife at the resort I was staying at. It took me a second to realize it was him but when I did I told him I was a Cuse fan, remembered him from his Rutgers days and how that shot broke my heart. I think he was fairly shocked I recognized him. He shook my hand and had a good chuckle and said I can't get away from you guys even in Costa Rica. Really nice guy and would call me Syracuse everytime we'd pass each other during the week I was there.

So THATS Norris Cole! I was wondering where this kid came from, he's like a vet out there.
He might be the x-factor to Miami being unstoppable, he's already running the team better than Chalmers.

I know it's only been two games, but they do look unstoppable. Their transition game is ridiculous. Incredibly fun to watch.

Im glad Boston came back and made a game of it because up until that point the Heat looked unstoppable. Last thing they need to find a stud in Norris Cole ughhh.

Earl Boykins had a ton of press in college though.

Exactly.
Some teams are just run better than others. Miami with Pat Riley is one of those that always has. Sucks, but true!:bang:

also cant forget last year he had a statline in 1 game that was...41 pts 20 rebounds and 9 assists

I've always said that I think the best aspect of watching collegiate athletics is witnessing player development and seeing kids become men.

That notion is certainly not exclusive to our own beloved Orangemen.

Although with Pitt is seems more like seeing them figure out how to clutch and grab better. Thank you for those 4 years Chevy Troutman...

Actually he was a first rounder... 28th overall by Chicago who immediately traded him to Minnesota.

The T-Wolves then promptly traded him to Miami for 31st pick, Bojan Bogdanović, a 2014 second-round draft pick, and cash considerations.

He didn't hit the shot so I have no animosity towards him. I looked him up as soon as I heard he was from Cleveland State

I have nothing against Cleveland State at all for that game. They were a good team that season came in played hard, didn't give up and put themselves in possition to win even if they needed a 60' bomb to do it. Remember we were down like 5 late and had to come back to take the lead before that bomb if I recall. Its not like they spent the game making last second conntested 3's or making a conserted effort to slow the game to a screachingt halt. I don't recall them flopping all gfame, or clutch grabbing and thugging it up either. That SU team was ready for Holiday and did not put the effert in needed to beat a good team like Clevelend St.
