Hopkins has a contract to replace Jim Boeheim as Syracuse head basketball coach upon Boeheim’s retirement. That deal has been in place for several years. Hopkins has done nothing to warrant vacation of that agreement (he was not connected to any of the allegations in the NCAA’s report) and everything to reinforce he is the ideal successor (including recruiting the vast majority of the team’s most prominent players for the past couple decades).
