Back what seems an eternity ago, my boyfriend at the time was the food & bev director at Drumlins. They had some big event going on and the person that was supposed to work the coat room stiffed so he asked me if I could do it.  Now if you've never worked a coat room you would think it would be pretty easy. I had been a bartender for many years prior to that and figured no sweat, what's the big deal.  Well let me tell you, what a shiete show it turned into.

There had to be 200 - 300 people at this event all queued up dropping off their hats, umbrella's, coats, boots, gloves, you name it.  After a while it was like a Jerry Lewis movie with me trying to grab stuff and hand out claim tickets to people.  There was stuff stacked all over the place.

When the crowd started to leave they would hand me their claim ticket and I'd start pawing through piles of coats trying to find their items.  Obviously I did not have a good system and people started to get pissed. Right when I was on the verge having a melt down, Coach Mac came behind the counter and put on someone's fur hat and coat and turned what was a debacle into a hilarious event. He was joking with people and grabbing anything off the rack and saying, Is this yours? No.  How does it look on me?  Oh my god, I'll never forget it.  What a great guy he is and that was a night that lives in infamy in my memory because of him.

And he not only gave me a giant tip he also made sure that everyone else left a tip too.  I'm so glad they are honoring him, I can't wait to see the ceremony as I think this time SU might finally get it right.
