Re: Hodgson Pros: Faced Pace Free Flowing Exciting Uptempo Offense - Think Alabama, we would be a super high scoring team, play mostly all 5 out offense with a high pick and roll over and over and over again. But with ball movement and shooting is stressed. Three point shooting or dunks not a lot of mid range. He is an intense coach who shows emotions on the sidelines, not afraid to coach hard during games. Looks like he demands execution and details. He has a relationship already with a massive donor. In the NIL ERA this can not be understated. He is a recruiter and has a good reputation on the recruiting trail. He has connections to the area and the community, which hopefully will help with fundraising His offense and passion should bring immediate excitement to the campus, fan base, and DOME Players seem to like to play in this sort of open, free-flowing system Cons: Defense, when you play such a fast-paced offense, defense becomes a second thought. We will not be playing grind-it-out games. So some old school fans will be upset. Games will be 100-90 type games instead of 60-50. We will be at the top of most of the offensive leaderboards and at the bottom of all the defensive leaderboards. His system is very talent-dependent, which is why you see small progressions in records at the lower-level schools. This is the type of system that, if you don't have the right talent or you have an off night, you can look really bad. I have seen that from Alabama, where they just suck certain days. He doesn't have a long history of success at the lower levels. He hasn't been terrible but he hasnt but super successful either so he is still unknown you are banking on him getting talent for his system. Won't be the best name on the market and is far from a sure thing. Overall - I think we can do way worse than Hogdson and I wouldn't be disappointed with him. I like his style of basketball makes the games exciting and fun to watch. His success here would be on how much NIL he could raise.
