Autry just was too much of a basic run of the mill HC you see all over the midmajors and in my opinion was not well respected or known to the broader hoops community.  A players coach to the end and the root of his downfall as a HC. Still 3 years later I look at our staff and see a line of Good Cops and No Bad Cops. I see Autry who after 3 years is too indecisive and Just doesn’t have the instincts for the big chair.

The worst thing that was ever floated around the hill during the Autry tenure was that it was just enough to just make a 68 team tournament. The Orange standard and meaningful games in March were joke statements all along and setup a culture mediocrity.

The next coach I have confidence will have the instincts and will be given the tools to not just be pretty good.  The expectation is to win it all not just hope for the best.

The offseason is going to be hyped.

Also won’t hurt if Lacrosse takes home a Natty and Angeli wins a Heisman as a lead up to Hoops.
