[QUOTE="sufan59, post: 5709706, member: 8789"] I'll make it clear, the Lally's opinions shouldn't be taken at face value, but something else is clear to me. They seem to be somewhat outsiders from being in Central New York, but have a huge heart for Central New York. They run in other circles outside of Central New York and likely saw the way they did things and saw successful results and the powers that be in Central New York having no clue how to adjust to the current environment. The AD thing, could age to be the best of both worlds, even though they didn't apparently get exactly what they wanted. And the new head coach, we shall see as well. I highly suggest Gerry take another job on the east coast in a good American or Atlantic 10 program to truly set him up for a retry down the road of the Boeheim tree if necessary. Although, if the Hodgson thing falls through, that may be happening not by choice, but by being the best option available to Syracuse. My gut feeling is I think the Lally's knew even before Autry took over that the Boeheim way had lost the plot in the grand scheme of College Basketball. Autry was truly a compromise to get the ball rolling to the moment we are at now. If Autry overperformed, then great, much easier path forward for everyone, but what was the most likely outcome happened. It's not that Autry tried something different, he did, but once you start bringing in new ways from the way you learned how to do it, it's truly a crapshoot if you are good enough at that way to deliver results.
