Example being, the Cardinals wanted to give the Managerial role to guys like Yadier Molina/Albert Pujols when neither has ever had an exposure to managing. Phenomenal players, like GMac, but very unproven as coaches. Both fan bases would rather go with unproven/nostalgic hires because it brings them comfort from the past when there is a completely new paradigm in both sports.
