The Thamel article was well timed and not accidental. He is no shill like Goodman. He has a reputation and will not be a mouthpiece for the administration. So I do in fact believe they have better resources than the Sisters of the poor narrative and that they are trying to go outside.

What is not clear to me is will a desirable P5 name be a viable candidate. TJ or Byington would be moonshot wins and both could have reasons to have interest. But I would guess both are still somewhat longshots. If not, it may be that GMac gets the nod over someone like a Martelli (who I think could be a great candidate and coach). A Luke Murray type remains a wildcard. And Thamel did mention northeast assistants being in the mix. Just think they might be a harder sell for the fanbase.

Personally I hope this drags on a bit, assuming no Schertz. Tells me they are doing everything possible to secure the best candidate. And I look forward to the 2,000 page never-to-be-eclipsed board record that comes along with it.
