Not sure why you replied to my post. I don't think he's a top candidate. I literally compared him to a safety school when applying to colleges. Not trying to be patronizing, but are you familiar with that concept? He's the guy that if we need a coach, I think we can safely say that we can go to him to take the job if we aim higher but strike out. In terms of why he's my safety coach. I will readily admit I don't have a ton of knowledge about Gerry as a coach. I saw the Iona game that was on ESPN, the MAAC championship, and the Duke game. I liked what I saw when watching those games, but that's a small sample set. What I do know that is "tangible" (to use your word) evidence is he had a vision for Siena and actually executed it. There are a lot of moving parts that come with that. He had to find the right players, the right staff, the right resources (e.g. NIL) and then actually go out on the court and put up wins. They were at 4 wins when he took the job, 2 years later, they are MAAC champions. Having a vision and then succeeding at making that vision a reality is a tangible skill. I like that he has that and believe he has the capability to take that skill set and make it happen at Syracuse. So if it ends up that we go with our safety coach, I'll tune in and support.
