If Hodgson truly sees Syracuse as his destination and where he wants to build his legacy. As long as we can guarantee him the resources position that Autry already has today and I'm sure especially in the beginning they will go in even more to kickstart it, that would be enough to be at the top 3rd of the league and comfortably in the NCAAT, the rest will be taken care of performing to that level. Because if we actually performed to the level of investment, the University will be making more money from the program and have the ability to reinvest in program to only further regain the position that Syracuse used to have in the glory days. Again, the expectation with this next hire should be a product that will fill the dome again and overall reenergize the program at the grassroots level. A product that produces an NCAAT level squad year in and year out. Then in 10 years you reevaluate if we still haven't gotten to the Elite 8 and beyond level of the tournament. At that point, if we are consistently going to the tournament, you have a much more engaged fan base and support than what we have seen in a while now. Then you see if Hodgson can get you to the biggest stage and that is the final four and competing and winning national championships. When UConn hired Hurley they wanted to just get energy back into the program and going to the tournament regularly, Hurley over performed and now they are back to their glory days and arguably stronger. If Hodgson can get us to a similar glory day level and stronger, absolutely amazing and perfect scenario, but the real expectation should be getting back to where we are filling the dome and going to the tournament every year for the first decade. Other schools may have more money overall, but there basketball programs can't justify the level of investment that Syracuse can at it's strongest state for basketball because they don't have the ability to generate the revenue that Syracuse can for basketball. And that may make you think that hurts football investment and perhaps it does, but as long as we don't continue the football product that was put out once we lost Angeli, Fran has the coldest seat possible as far as I'm concerned. With the way he recruits, there is not many people out there that has Syracuse at a higher ceiling leading the football program with our resource level.
