With the coaching change, there is a lot of worry that the new staff may not be able to retain the current recruiting class. Looking on the other side, what are some of the ways that a new staff might reverse this? The Robert Washington Decommit and the Chris Clark pulled offer are tied to the Shafer staff. Might the new staff get them to reconsider? What other players might they be able to reconsider?

I think AD Coyle needs to retain one coach, say Acosta, to keep the lines of recruiting open. Acosta seems to have established a foothold in NJ and why not make him the full-time Recruiting Coordinator and immediately renew interest in RW and especially CC for TE is where much help is needed for the Orange.

Get them to reconsider? You're not up to speed on what really happened there, particularly with Clark, then, right?

Clark isn't the one who would need to reconsider. Syracuse is, regardless of who the coach is.

What really happened with Clark for 5* recruits don't usually commit to the Cuse so what was the deal here? Attitude?

Guys, Coyle is not going to make those decisions. He is going to hire a HC to do that.

Is he considered part of the staff, or is he more athletic department administration?
And I would ask the same question of the Rutgers guy who came on board last year (well regarded). Are they on the "staff" side or the "operations" side?

Director of Recruiting being his title leads me to think athletic department administration, but I'm not 100% sure

So... he may be just fine.

Washington will be going to a JC because of his recent movement to different homes messed up his academics. At least that was reported by recruiting site
