I would imagine he is. He was named the top player in his class a few years ago, and is still consistently in the top 15 somewhere. Wouldn't mind seeing Grant really break out, getting into the top 30, too. Greedy? Greedy.

Greedy, yes, but not out of the question. I'd have to think Coleman, given his reputation nationally, especially, and the fact that he'll be on a very short list for NY player of the year, has got to be just about a lock.

Grant is in the 40-50 range, but with a big season he could potentially shoot up the rankings and maybe be a fringe selection. His name recognition, being the son of Harvey and NEPHEW of Horace, can't hurt. The McD's guys seem to enjoy having the sons of NBA players in the game.

plus, JD plays a few big games this year... Oak Hill maybe, and a tourney in Kentucky I think

Good possibility but not a lock as many believe. Scout has him as the #6 center #29 overall. Using those rankings the answer woudl be not likley. We'll see where he ends up. It'd be nice and the 1st McD AA from the area I can remember.

Coleman will likely be a McD AA. He has the pedigree to make the cut. The most obvious reason, duhh, is that he is going to Da Cuse.

If Rochester is considered "the area" then add John Wallace to that list with Paulus.

I don't want to rain on any parades, but the McD's selectors place almost no value on the performance during SR year of high school. These guys vote almost entirely based on summer performance prior to the SR year, so based on his current rankings, Grant has almost no shot of making it. Despite Coleman's gradual slide in the rankings, I think he's done enough to brand himself over the last 3 years that he'll land in the burger game.

Hey Mason, glad you're back on the boards.

And while I agree Grant is probably not going to make it, I hate ruling his chances out completely. You never know with the people who make the decisions.
