WR corps look very strong. We’re big and fast there with a lot of talent. I think we’ll see more RB’s getting carries this year, and that’s fine, they looked capable. LA looks good, a little too upright for my liking but he’s got the wiggle and explosiveness to make it work. Other than Shrader locking on his favorites a little too often for my liking, he performed well. I think his shoulder/arm/elbow whatever has more of a story to it than we know. He worked through progressions yesterday and extended plays. CDRW played the best I’ve seen him play in Orange. Good for him, because I wasn’t sold. I don’t think he’s very agile, but he can certainly spin the rock. He improves his placement of some balls and he’s flawless yesterday. We wouldn’t need to extend plays at the QB position if we were a little stronger at the point of attack. I think we’re going to have to help the OL a bit in tougher games. RPO, misdirection, rollouts and play action. I hope they settle in. Defense was smothering, as they should’ve been. I’m interested to see our secondary when a QB has time to set up, which they didn’t yesterday. But Rocky’s going to make that very difficult with a fast and physical defense that likes to bring pressure. We’ve been spoiled on D for awhile. And I’m glad that we’ve got pieces on the other units to compliment that. Like… Punter… Stonehouse, if consistent, will prove very valuable. Syracuse should always have top tier Specialists because we play in a Dome. No better recruiting tool for a K/P. Denaburg has a rocket of a leg. Kickoffs routinely out of the end zone is good for us. Little squirley on a couple of XP’s yesterday, so I hope he gets comfortable. I don’t think range will be any type of an issue for him if we need 3, but the accuracy remains to be seen. I realize it was Colgate, but outside of the early penalties that’s about as good of a performance as you can ask for. I don’t think Beck got away from the base offense all day, didn’t need to. He’s got tricks up there, and we’re going to be tough to defend when that playbook opens up.
