ACC MEN’S LACROSSE: PLAYERS OF THE WEEK ANNOUNCED (ACC)

Notre Dame’s Conor Doyle and Syracuse’s Ben Williams have earned the final Atlantic Coast Conference Players of the Week honors of the season. Doyle is this week’s Offensive Player of the Week and Williams is the Defensive Player of the Week.

Williams won 90 percent of the game’s faceoffs, going 18-for-20 at the X, to help lead Syracuse to a 9-7 win at No. 12 Colgate on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams. It was the 11th time in school history an Orange faceoff specialist won 90 percent of his draws in a game (minimum 10 attempts). Williams also collected 11 ground balls in the contest to move into second place on the Orange single-season record list in that category (133). Williams won 13-of-14 draws in the opening half, including all six in the second quarter. His play gave SU a huge advantage in time of possession, allowing Syracuse to outshoot the Raiders for the game, 43-26.
