The NCAA lacrosse committee meets in Indianapolis this weekend, with much of its work taking place after Saturday's seven conference title games wrap up. There are two games Sunday (the Ivy League final and Boston University's visit to Duke), but most of the variables will be settled by around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
However, much of the at-large field could sort itself out even before the committee begins its deliberations.
While there is the possibility of three bid thieves (America East, Big East and Big Ten) and a borderline team in another conference getting hot for a weekend (Ivy), it would come as no surprise if Saturday arrives and the only game teams at the edge of the field were truly sweating out was in the America East.
Things rarely work out so comfortably, but it's not hard to find a path to a Selection Sunday relatively low on complaints if most of these conference semifinals go a certain way.
