The SEC West isn't that good. Texas A&M and LSU have great offenses, but their defenses are young this year and have been destroyed. This is completely unexpected for a team like LSU, but they will be better on defense in the future, but won't have an NFL QB like Zack Mettenberger most likely. Also, the SEC East isn't that bad Missouri, Georgia, South Carolina are good teams, but those 3 teams didn't have the top SEC West teams, and that has caused the SEC West teams records to be inflated. The 8 game schedule is a joke and I hope the SEC follows thru with Nick Saban wanting 9 conference games it will cause the ACC to do the same. In the last 4 years which are the 4 dominant years of Alabama football they have played the top 3 teams in the SEC East Florida, Georgia, South Carolina 2 times in the regular season before the SEC title game. Alabama has beaten up Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Kentucky over that stretch 7 times, and Missouri 1 time last year. In those games against the top 3 SEC East team Alabama is 1-1 they beat Florida in the Swamp in 2011 and lost to South Carolina in Columbia in 2010. People have to get off the SEC high horse they are the best conference but the schedules being 8 games don't cause as many good intra-division matchups which keeps the losses for the top teams down. If A&M loses to Missouri this weekend they will fall to 8-4 with ZERO good wins and out of the top 25.
