For those of us who debate the importance of conference tournament titles what are your thoughts on our final Big East tourny and our first ACC toury (whenever they happen)? I for one would be all in on wanting those two scalps badly! Outside of a final four (and title) in those seasons I could not hope for a better accomplishment.

Regular season, then 1-1 in the BET (assuming we get a top 4 seed). I have no problem with not winning it (although I would love to win it every year).

If this was the last year...I don't care too much about the BE tourney. 5 of our last 7 games are against ranked teams, one of the others is at Rutgers-- who has a couple of impressive wins at home. Those games will get us ready for the NCAA's. Win one or two in the Garden and be happy. Though it could happen at any time, it was in the Garden that we lost our shot at a title two years ago when AO went down...we all know in our bones it was ours that year but for the injury.

Sign me up. I hate the "only the NCAA tournament counts" attitude. That attitude comes from non college basketball fans who like to gamble.

Real basketball fans have no reason to take that attitude. In my opinion winning the Big East tournament constitutes a very special season no matter what else happens or does not happen. And the last Big East tournament/first ACC tournament will be extra special in a way that the NCAA tournament never will be.

I don't get the rationale of not caring about wining the BET. I want SU to win every game it plays in, that's the reason I root for the team, to win each game and play their best ... not wait, rest and then try to play better in bigger games. Makes no sense to me.
