Since 2001 we have only 4 seasons over .500 in conference, only 6 at .500 or better, and only 6 over .300!!!! Our median record is 2-6 in conference. Our average record is 2.27 Ws 5.27 Ls.
So we are already above the median and the average. Even if we lose the last two games we have had the 7th best conference season since 2001. If we win one, we are tied for 5th. If we win both, it will be 4th best.
That being said going 3-5 would be worse than 2022, and we had a lighter conference schedule vs years past. Is that really an improvement? Also next year right now looks a lot harder. If we can't get .500 this year, what will happen next?

I think going forward 3-5 should be the baseline. Only going 2-6 is disappointing. Going 4-4 is a good season, 5-3 a very good season, and 6-2 or better a great season.
