Congrats to Jay Wright

Met him the night before a game at The Sheraton, really good dude. Knew all the SU old timers being honored, I told him where I lived and he asked if 2 friends of his (friends of mine) made it up for the game. Good dude.

This will stir the pot, say Hopkins left last year, would someone like Jay Wright consider taking the reigns at the CUSE?

Most people here scoffed at the idea, so I find it funny now since he likely has no reason to want to leave anymore.

I just don't see him going anywhere other than the NBA. I can't see one rational reason why he would want to come to SU.

He's a great coach and appears to be a genuine, caring person. Of all our rival coaches, he was my favorite.
He has appeared at the Boeheim Basket Ball. Agree, one of the good guys in college basketball.

I am happy for him and for Villanova fans as well. They were always a good bunch that were easy to like in the old days of the BET.

I think once a coach has established a winning program at a high D1 school and has the support of his/her administration, there's no real reason to leave, unless its for an absolute blue blood program or for other reasons (e.g., alumni). Would Jay Wright take, for example, the KU job if they called? But even then, how many guys move around much once they have a good situation? In the last few years, I can't think of many that have moved without that other connection. Buzz Williams, maybe?

My question is: how the heck did the eventual national champion lose to first-round loser Seton Hall in the BET? Maybe Gonzaga was better than people think they were.

It shouldn't be that surprising when a title team loses to a decent team once in three tries.
