Would have posted this yesterday, but was fairly busy after the game so this is the first chance I've had to come peruse this board.

Syracuse whooped our ass yesterday. Didn't help that we couldn't shoot, but you have to attribute a lot of our shooting woes to your defense. Crowd looked great and Syracuse really looked impressive.

Looks like Syracuse is the only good team in the ACC this year. Good luck the rest of the way.

Appreciate the kind words. Just curious - is Williams taking any heat or feeling a hot seat down there? I only ask because I would guess the fans are pretty frustrated.

In every fanbase there are morons. Williams is taking heat from the morons-not from anyone else. Roy is like Jim in that he will coach at his school for as long as he wants to.

Gracious post; good to see so many visitors in the Dome yesterday.

I'm not convinced that Carolina's done for the year. You've got some good pieces; once the team gets further removed from the Hairston nonsense, they may well coalesce and start winning some of these close games. With the whole league down, no reason that can't be a tournament team capable of making a run.

Classy post and a great example of how much fun this board can be. Congratulate a rival on a good win, move on, and root like hell for your team. Don't downgrade the win with excuses and how much better your team is. This is because UNC is a great program with a great history, and like us, a bright future. They don't come on here mentioning they have 5 nc's, like some other jackass program (no name needed). It's always about the present and the future. The past is for has-beens.

but for some poor foul shooting against lesser teams, UNC would have a much better record, given the wins against good teams. I don't think they really anticipated the strength of the SU defense yesterday (although Roy should have known).

I dont understand how someone who grew up in Syracuse and went to SU games is now a UNC fan.

It appeared to me that your players were mentally "broken" by their recent losing streak. If you can beat #1 mich state and beat Louisville and Kentucky, you have good talent. They're still young and need to toughen up a bit, but there is certainly talent there and you don't win 2 NC's simply by being lucky as a coach. You'll be back soon.

I went to UNC. Gotta pull for my alma mater.
Weak. Wheres the loyalty to your hometown , the place where you were raised, and to the team you used to watch play?

Thanks botime and Go ACC! UNC is a great program and I know there is more titles in their future, hope you guys can learn to enjoy us when we are special like this year.

I grew up 5 minutes from St John's with a Chris Mullin poster in my room. Root for your school.
Why are your posts always negative towards mine? I must of pissed you off over the years. St Johns blows thats why you root for SU.

Right behind my loyalty to the school that I actually went to. Like I said earlier, I still pull for Syracuse, but consider myself a UNC fan first. Never said that I was raised in Syracuse (my father was in the military and I spent a good portion of my life growing up in Watertown when he was assigned to Fort Drum). Half my family went to Syracuse so while we were living there I went to as many basketball games as we could get to (as long as 81 was open). Great place with great people. Moved to North Carolina after middle school and kept pulling for Syracuse, but went to UNC. Love both schools but my main loyalty has to lie with the place where I spent perhaps the best four years of my life. Glad we are in the same conference now.

On a related note, I have been wanting to do a trip back to Syracuse for a while now. Want to check out the bars and the college scene since I wasn't legal the last time I was up there. Might do it on a football weekend, though...years of living down south have spoiled me and I don't think I want to brave the cold anymore.
