Congrats

I think part of the gameplan was to let Olander, Smith, Ohraki, etc shoot. You could tell they weren't rotating as hard to those guys as they were to Lamb or Bazz.

Last year in the semi, Olander was hitting that shot. Probably a lot to ask for that twice.

Yep Olander was huge last year. I think if he hit it, Melo would have had to come up on him eventually and that would have happened it up for AD or AO downlow.

TIP: Don't worry about what talking heads say. You're 31-1. You'll be allright.

and much respect back to this troubled UConn squad, that kept scrapping until the final tenths of seconds, when lesser teams would have just quit.

down 7 with under 30 left, at least half the coaches in the conference would have just let it go. Not that SOB Calhoun, and I mean that in the best way possible.

If anyone bitches about the BE getting 9 or 10 into the tourney, just show them this game; UConn as a GD 9 seed...it's incredible how much power there is in the BE year in and year out. UConn has top-10 talent, just need to put it together -- which I hope they do in the tourney to screw over many teams.

You, know, I kind of hope Syracuse gets to beat UConn a 4th time in the national title game after you guys take care of KY again ;)

UConn missed a million wide open looks in the first half, zone locked down in the 2nd half. Special, special SU team.

yep, uconn missed a lot of wide open shots the first half. unfortunately su missed a lot of them the whole game, otherwise it doesn't go down to the wire.

It's kinda frustrating to flip to the other "major" conference tournaments and see some of the crap teams with like 5 & 6 seeds.

You guys are going to do some damage in the tournament, zls44.

UConn has the same number of lottery picks as the SEC has on all teams not named Kentucky combined.

Thanks zls. Appreciated. UConn is always a classic game and it will be sad to leave that heated rivalry behind.

For those who wonder why I do this: I like Tom and Joyce and even irrepressible-douchebag Matt. I respect SU even though I want you to lose at all times. I like to think I'm doing my small part for a bit of karma in a close game against a 1/2 seed with 3 minutes to go.

And vice-versa, zls.
Good luck in the Dance.

Assuming UConn gets in, I fully expect them to reek havoc if they bring even their B game. With Calhoun back, Drummond playing tough inside, Lamb/Napier playing mostly good ball and even average contributions from Boatwright/Smith/bench, I think this is a Sweet 16 team. I really think it all comes down to Napier though. If he plays mindless, out of control ball like most of hte 2nd half today, UConn will have a tough go of it. Otherwise, that looks like a 2nd weekend team. The talent should come forward.

Classy post.

2 seed? holding out hope for a 7 slot, or fearing thinking a 10?

I cut "fearing" because it is better to be a 10 than a 9 or 8

UConn tends to get the benefit of the doubt, but I think they're in 8-10 range.
