Apparently Jerami Grant and Wichita-based rapper XV are related.

@XtotheV wassup cuz ima let em know

When XV was asked if he'd be rooting for Wichita State or Syracuse when March rolls around:
XV ‏@XtotheV Feb 11
@MooMoo25 Haven't decided until the madness. I win either way, fam or hometown. lol

Jerami's response:
Jerami Grant ‏@MooMoo25 Feb 11
@XtotheV lol fams always the way to go

The direct connection to Wichita State involves his interactions with their players, and his pride in where he's from. This song has become a bit of an anthem for WSU players:

For those of you who hate Twitter and/or hip-hop music, carry on with your day.

Another Syracuse-Wichita St connection is sharp shooter John Kobar, a former local Bishop Ludden star from the mid 70's who had a great career starting 4 years at Wichita State from 1977 -1980. An assistant at Wichita State at the time, Ed Murphy a former Syracusan, recruited John to Wichita State. Murphy was also a former New Mexico State assistant and the reason local players Jimmy Collins (Corcoran), Roy Neal (Central Tech), Jim Michaels (Rosary) etc headed west to play for them.
