Comparing former coaches is a bad take because it makes no sense in the context of the argument and your comparing Gait's teams struggles to Desko and Simmons two of the greatest lax coaches of all time. Did teams under Simmons and Desko have slow starts yes of course and did they have some bad habits yes, but they also produced final fours and national championships. I agree on Anderson he needed to finish in the 1st half yesterday, it may have changed the complexity of the game. However, we do have to remember he is still a freshman in only his third game and he was able to get himself into great positions by dodging that Joey and Hiltz weren't able to and in Hiltz's case didn't really try to (he had a great game no doubt but I can't recall him dodging to the cage much if at all). I don't have an issue with Deere rotating in at attack and getting some run there. In fact I think playing him at least a possession or 2 a qtr makes a lot of sense or even reprising his role on the 2nd midline. However, your position/point was that you weren't impressed with Anderson from his production to date and that was after he had 3 pts against ND. You make it sound like he has been starting at attack all year and has like 10 pts. He's started 3 games this year at attack, and has 2, 3 and 1 pts respectively against UVA, ND and Cornell. Not exactly cupcake central. We needed more from him against Cornell yesterday but not sure the answer is Deere who while a really good player is a pure crease finisher who while and excellent round ball and riding attackmen is also zero dodging threat and will get short sticked the entire game and have our midfield double polled. Again no issue rotating him in with Anderson but to say Anderson isn't producing isn't accurate. The McCool issue is a totally separate argument. He's been up and down this year, mostly up but in a few games he's been real bad and both of those were losses Harvard and Cornell. He got pulled vs Harvard which was the right call but you either have to give Ippoliti an extended chance or roll with McCool, If you pull him everytime he has a bad or underwhelming 1st half it will turn into an absolute cluster. I think McCool can be the guy but I do have concerns as when he's off he is really off.
