What also helped is could see maryland was concerned with some of cornell’s outside shooters (42,47,) which caused maryland to have to press out at times. But cuse lacks outside shooters. Cornell inverted a lot also which caused some discomfort for maryland. Cuse tried to much dodging from top n would spin it down low behind net when got pushed out as cornell would spin out n up throwing ball back up top n quickly to other side right into another dodge giving maryland less time to recover. I think if you don’t have the dodgers to win 1v1 can still beat a good defense but ya need outside shooters who can hit those shots specially on a great goalie. They got mcnaney to move pipe to pipe n shot it fast and hard n bounces hard bouncers. They also shot ball as guys passed mcnaneys face changing levels giving him less time to see ball. They also hide ball very well when they shoot to give goalie little trouble to see ball come out of stick. Cuse could do some of what cornell did against maryland. But cornell also was very aggressive n physical n mostly dictated what marylands offense or what they wanted them to do. They hustled hard for every ball as every gb they had least 4 guys going after it n coming out with it actually pick up a hard contested grounder.
