What Jonny and Wes have/were not able to? Latest Chad Ford mock draft has him going at 18 to the T-Wolves.

I just found this somewhat funny, as just recently someone posted here about what the Wolves fans must think of Cuse after those 2 first round picks.

Here's hoping Dion continues to improve and impress and truly does translate into a solid NBA talent. I especially like the last sentence of Ford's paragraph below:

Snippet:

Analysis: The Wolves' biggest need is at the 2-guard spot right now. While I'm sure they'd prefer a better shooter, Waiters' ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the basket should make him a coveted pick here. Like Moultrie, Waiters has been moving up draft boards the past few weeks. I could easily see him in the lottery by draft night.

(For what it's worth, he has Fab going to the Celtics at 21)

I thought Jonny actually did quite well before getting hurt, despite playing for a bad coach with a strange system. Wes must be playing some good defense to remain in the lineup, as he sure was not putting up good stats otherwise.

Just saw a tweet that Dion is shooting lights out at some event.

Agreed. Jonny was pretty much in the worst system possibly for his style of play, but still put up solid numbers. I think the system is pretty good for Wes, but for whatever reasons he never scores or gets boards, but always plays.

You wonder if Minny would stay away from Dion just based on the fact that their last 2 Syracuse picks haven't really worked out.

However, Dion will be better in the NBA than he was in college, his game is more suited there. Wes' game was more suited for the college level, can't really decide on Jonny's (he might just be too small)

I thought he was in class?

Wes is definitely turning himself into a solid defender (he led the Wolves in blocked shots, although that is probably more an indictment of their interior defenders) . . . and he also shot over 40% from three over the last half of the season. If he is able to continue that shooting next season, then as a 3 point specialist who can defend two positions, he will be a disappointment relative to his draft slot, but he should be able to earn a 2nd contract (which to me is the definition of a legit NBA player)

Dion is at Impact Basketball Academy in Las Vegas.

This says Dion is listed as the 4th best 2 guard

He's the 2nd best point guard

He could be the first pg taken

Fab Melo is the 4th best center

Read it

Not that I enjoy saying I told you so... who am I kidding I love to say I told to you so... but I digress

At some point this season I made a post pointing out how Dion compares to Deron Williams and while that comparison might be a bit strong the point of my post is that Dion would be a great PG in the NBA. I believe that post was shat on by 90% of the board denizens so for all those people... I told you so

I think after a few years Dion has a pretty high ceiling as a Baron Davis type point. I'm not saying that he is going to ever be as good as a healthy Baron but he has that similar explosive game.

Monta Ellis had an explosive game too, but he didn't translate into an NBA PG.

I'm all for I told you so's, but maybe we wait until he actually plays in the NBA before this I told you so?

I was going to say... if NBA stars were made by projections...Michael Olowakandi would be right up there with Shaq.

I'd really like to be there when Dion is inducted in the Basketball Hall of Fame. What do you figure, he plays maybe 15 years in the NBA? That would get him there around 2032. It's never too early to start planning these things, you know.

I hope you end up being right, but I just don't see it.

I still think Dion got robbed of the MVP in 2013.

But at least he was still first team All-NBA and unanimous choice for Rookie of the Year.
