No. NCAA cleared him out of HS, right? They would have to admit they screwed up to take away any wins. SU is getting out in front of this anyways, but suspending him rather than letting the NCAA do it.

Southerland attended NDP for the 2008-09 year. He has been doing satisfactory work and grades at SU for 3 years (3 1/2 if there were no problems with his grades for this fall semester). If the NCAA has to review his course work at NDP for 08-09 and document he took real courses and earned real grades, seems like that could take forever -- if the records even still exist. They cleared him to be eligible at the time. If he has been doing satisfactory work at SU they should leave it alone. It doesn't seem fair to make him sit out now, 4 years later. Certainly you can't have diploma mills where kids get grades and do no work and I can see them investigating kids there currently or from the past year. Instead of cracking down on kids who have done satisfactory college work for 3 years, maybe the NCAA should crack down on certain schools where large agencies like CAA represent the head coach and have "associates" who seem to have the job of steering high level recruits to that coach's school.

Immaterial at this point since others are reporting that this has nothing to do with NDP but the NCAA investigation involves not only academic irregularities but also issues with recruiting and financial improprieties.
