yep, I was going to put this in a new thread but think it better here.  This Mahoney kids got a little Doug FLutie in him.  Just finally watched the film of him someone posted and having done some scouting and recruiting back in the day was pleasantly surprised at his skill set.

He's better than Wilson by a stretch and they'll need to give him enough time to settle in to find a groove.  He's got quick elusive feet and has the arm strength to make some good throws.  I wouldn't say he's got a "strong arm" but he gets it done makes some good reads has good escapability aka playmaking ability.  MUCH better athlete than I originally was thinking based on just simply hearing "5th string qb", etc. Overall I'm surpised by what I see.

Now I wish he could have had a chance to get his chops against say CMU rather than LSU, but if he can avoid getting squashed and channel a little Flutie magic I think I'm no longer gonna find myself wanting to exit the dome in the first quarter having to listen (and not being able to take it) to all the Tiger revelers, but rather I think we can hang with them for a while, maybe even into the second half.  If that happens this team is going to be better than many thought going forward the rest of the year as that will mean they've put together a complete team performance.  Win?  No way, but I do think we can put up a good accounting on Sat.
