From wastewater analysis

Wastewater testing should be mandatory in every town and village in this country. I commend SU again for about as good a COVID plan as you can get.
It's a good idea, the problem is finding the people, then tracking who they have contacted. Hopefully they caught it early enough to limit the number to less then 50.

Please remember this is potential.

it doesn’t mean there absolutely was.

syracuse has stressed this over and over today.

"weak virus signal" detected at my old freshman dorm, Sadler Hall. Important distinction here - University says is significantly less pronounced than the Ernie Davis findings, and may even trace back to former positives that they know live in the bldg. As such they are merely requiring everyone to be tested but NOT quarantining as they did with EDH.

Woo hoo

Matt's Beer Ball party in Suite 608!

P.S. only old fossils will understand what I wrote.
I forget--what happened to the empties? Were they returned, or just discarded?

I can't remember...I know it was like a $5 deposit on the tap. The ball might have been like $1 or $2 deposit but I can't remember. We usually went with a Miller 1/2 keg at Oswego St. Someone had a connection and we paid like $17. This was when Miller was made in Fulton.

how do they find issues with the waste water and then find no kids with any virus?

I think that they said it was remnants from someone who had already tested positive/was identified.

thats also means that tool becomes pretty useless once sometime with it gets into the system if they keep throwing out for weeks after

After a person is no longer contagious they can still shed the dead virus for a period of time.

SU really seems to have a good plan in place and is able to detect and react quickly. Kudos to SU. I hope that I didn’t jinx them.

they do have a good system in place. I happen to also think the Haynie letter that some felt was over the top scared the hell out of both students and their parents. Several students tossing a football around near the women’s building...all with masks. Several students doing some yoga on the quad...all spread out and all wearing masks. Several students sitting in chairs under one of the white tents just chatting...all with masks. Kudos.

This is sad and you seem to be very happy that young healthy people outside are denying themselves fresh oxygen.

University has to play this card tho ie we have low numbers and next years enrollment will likely be tied to that.

But it’s still sick to see people so happy that young folks are compliant w nonsensical rules. You will likely demand mask wearing forever.
