Craig Forth gets 1st win as Head Coach of Varsity at Columbia HS

Good for Craig. Despite all the BS he got on this board, he did nothing but bring credit to SU (four-time Academic All-American). Oh, and by the way, he was also the starting center on our National Championship team.

Auditioning for the position as next big man coach?

Nice. The last 2 points were extremely important since Kansas took the last shot.

To your point: I was at a post 2003 home game. Some idiot behind me was yelling at Forth the whole game. At one point he screams right behind me fpr Craig to grab a rebound, which SU had lost. I stood up, turned around, looked at him, questioned his intelligence in un-sociable language, and pointed out that Mr. Forth was currently on the bench, and could not have gotten the rebound. His friemds, and others had quite the laugh.
He was quiet the rest of the game.

It is amazing how anyone could be frustrated with a four year starting center that averaged 4.7 ppg and 4.6ppg.

In all seriousness, good for Craig. But to complain about the opinions of people on an Internet fan message board a bit silly.

And let's be honest, that is what this is. We are a community of die-hards who get pissed when we lose any game.

Again, good for Craig. I hope he isn't losing sleep over any comments from this board.

That of course is not true and any real fan knows that. Edelin scored the last SU FG. And in fact, I am pretty sure that forth had already fouled out after his three rebound performance.

Forth is a great kid and I am glad he is doing what he was meant to do - not many people can say that.

yet if any other 4 yr starter averaged 4 points and 4 rebounds per game over 4 yrs this board would be going nuts...

According to the ESPN.com play-by-play, Edelin made SU's last FG:

2:36
Kansas Full Timeout.
2:04 Billy Edelin made Two Point Jumper.
80-73
1:54
80-75
Nick Collison made Two Point Dunk Shot.

he also only played 20mins a game.

and most opinions i read here are so flat out wrong and stoopid, they deserve to be outed.

My bad. Thanks to the board members who posted the correction. I forgot that Billy scored after Craig's dunk at the 3:05 mark to get us to 78 points, a point total Kansas never surpassed.

He is one of my favorite players . . . in addition to his off-court credit that you rightly highlight, he also did things for the team on the court that didn't show up on box scores and thus went unappreciated by many.

On another note, Jason Hart is now 2-1 in his first season as coach at Taft High School in Woodland Hills, CA. His only blemish is a 1 point loss to one of the top ranked schools in SoCal.
