Could have been a terrible situation on campus. I was walking right past schine around the time the suspect was arrested.

Man had rifle with scope, ammunition when arrested at Syracuse University, police say

The rifle was in a gray case and two boxes of ammo were in a backpack, police said. The man was arrested just before the SU-Pitt game.

Cornell grad. Wasn't a fan of ICE.

I don't think he had the rifle out of the case, he was carrying it around while waiting for his bus. I'd bet a dollar that he was carrying that as some misguided form of self defense in case he was targeted by ICE.
