Crystal ball upcoming ACCT

No one knows for sure if we’ll get to the big dance. The only sure thing is win the acct tournament. How can we do it? I am a hawk when it comes to defense. My hero is and always will be Bill Russell, the greatest player ever to play. He did it with incredible defense though if you check out old footage on YouTube he can be seen grabbing a rebound and dribble the length of the floor. Anyhow - it is going to take a huge effort on the defensive side to win the ACCT. The offense will take care of itself. Like Bill Russell Cuse needs to go all in defensively - even if it means taking a break offensively to catch your breath. Maybe it is too simplistic but I would rather see every Cuse player get a hand in the face and contest on every shot and crash the boards on every shot instead of standing still and watching the flight of the ball. The offense will be okay but defense wins titles. You can be as brutal or kind as you want, how do you think Cuse can win the ACCT?

Honestly to win the ACCT, Buddy and Cole have to get hot and be 18 plus a game both. Buddy isn't going to stop chucking so if he gets on a roll then we have a fighting chance. Otherwise I just don't see it.

Everybody has to step up on defense, and Frank is capable of double digit rebounds every outing. My hope relies on the ACC league being down this year and they continue that trend in the tournament. AND Cuse is somehow opposite bracket vs Duke. Though it will be the 3rd time they play them this year. If Duke wins both regular league games, the old axiom might be applied. It's tough to beat a team 3 times in a season.

Right now the most important game impacting our seeding is going on. We need Notre Dame beat Wake Forest. The most likely school we can catch up with is Wake Forest. If we have the same conference record, both teams lost to Duke. That is the first tie breaker. The next tie breaker is who wins over Notre Dame. If we can beat Notre Dame, then we will win the tie-breaker. So Duke is No. 1 seed. Notre Dame is No. 2 seed. SU is No. 7 seed and Wake is No. 8. That is the best scenario for us. Notre Dame plays like BC. I have confidence we can beat them.
{edited] Never mind. Notre Dame lost. Right now our chance to get No. 7 seed is that we only lose to Duke in the remaining game while VA Tech loses twice (Miami and UNC).

Nah... I mean always a sliver of hope for lightening in a bottle and all that, but it's not realistic.

Realistic goal: finish the season with a winning record.

Not much of a goal, I know, but it's where we are at.
