And of course the dome. Sounds like you all enjoyed the game despite not playing your best.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the areas and the rest of the experience.
Loved the ability to travel for a few days and get to see a different game day environment and different university campus. Would take some getting use to paying tolls to travel on the interstates, but the service areas were really neat. On way back got to even try a Roy Rogers hamburger again, only has been about 35 years since I had one lol.
RV parking for visiting fans was great. Transportation to and from Dome could not have been better. We only had one disappointment from the trip and one surprise. Disappointed leaves had not begun to change colors and the surprise was the Carrier Dome is sponsored by Carrier A/C, but does not have A/C in the dome. Imagine an early September game can be brutal.
Overall, I would give the trip a 9.8 out of 10. Fans were great, atmosphere in the Dome was great. Unfortunately, warning you ahead of time, doubt the LSU fans in a couple of years will be as hospitable to the same degree you guys were.

Two types of LSU fans: the alumni and the T-shirt fans. This coming from essentially a T-shirt fan (although most of my family graduated from SU)...down South the trashy fans who didn't attend an SEC school generally follow one instead of an NFL team. So you get similar type of behavior as a drunk NFL loser fan. You generally don't have problems with SEC alumni other than arrogance among some.But..but...Southern hospitality...

And I am surprised the transportation FROM the dome was good...Typically the lines for the shuttles are very long. I park at Manley mostly, so a lot of times we found it quicker to just walk back.
Glad you had a great time!
we have a great reputation for hosting OOC teams/fans. now Auburn fans can go suck a DUnfortunately, warning you ahead of time, doubt the LSU fans in a couple of years will be as hospitable to the same degree you guys were.
Noone in Syracuse talks like the Sopranos haha. This isn't Jersey. We sound like educated people in the movies ive always been told.Loved it. Love the friendly people and the different types of BEER. Lot of beer. It was a great trip. The language barrier was a bit much. It was Cajun people appearing on the Sopranos. Fun time though...
C'mon, you're holding back. What do you really think about Auburn? For the record, many Syracuse fans think the same, especially after the Pat Dye go for the tie incident.we have a great reputation for hosting OOC teams/fans. now Auburn fans can go suck a D
Particularly since you will be hosting a top 25 team filled with upperclassmen playmakers looking for an upset!Unfortunately, warning you ahead of time, doubt the LSU fans in a couple of years will be as hospitable to the same degree you guys were.

Oglethorpe still one of them? That was the big mall when I was stationed there.Yeah I figured that out while I was stationed in Georgia. There were TWO stores at the mall in Savannah that sold nothing but SEC gear despite the fact the closest SEC school (UGA) was a couple hours away. Everyone around there was a Georgia, Auburn, or Alabama fan.

Pat Dye was a coward, but he wore it with pretty good grace afterwards.
From my point of view, playing Auburn in 2001 the first game after 9/11, you couldn't have asked for better folks, and the return trip was a great game, too. Smart, respectful fans. We surprised them that northerners even know how to play football! LOL
wish there was a dislike buttonI will concede that my bias may be influenced by the fact that I like Alabama. I grew up hearing and watching Bear Bryant's teams.
Tread easy. I started following LSU while stationed at Barkatraz (Barksdale AFB, Shreveport), I've enjoyed that ride, too.wish there was a dislike button
