He's a redshirt sophomore that is correct. I think he will be fine. He is a stop gap as orangemass mentions. Everyone was worried when Bear went down that we weren't deep at DT. Williams, Black, and Ruff are all acc caliber starting DTs. When you have older players behind them (Harper 3rd year and Grovesnor 5th year) who both have the meat to play the position then it's not that worrisome. I hope Harper excels (I personally don't think he will) but I think he should be an average player hidden as a rotational piece on a stacked defense. The DEs will be as good as advertised, the LBs will be better than anticipated (Armstrong looks to be very very solid, Lakiem Williams looks like a thumper, and Mikel Jones has me thinking Marquis Spruill 2.0), and the Secondary will be very very good but still going to give up some big plays. DT is not a glaring weakness. With Williams hurt some name had to go on the two deep I wouldn't read too much into this and the surrounding defense will be amazing. A warm, capable body to plug holes inside is sufficient (again would love him to prove me wrong). We need Williams back by Clemson because we need a lot to go right and one component is healthy starters but Liberty & Maryland while respectable opponents should not be games where Williams moves the needle. Nothing would suck the life out of this season more than a Liberty loss as they rally for freeze or a loss to Maryland before the much anticipated Clemson game (if we thump both we likely come in ranked ~18th/19th (TAMU should lose to Clemson, LSU or Texas will lose to each other, Oregon and Auburn one of those will lose to each other, and Washington could lose to Cal or another marginal upset). The thing I'm reading into is Scoop Bradshaw going from starter to off the two deep. Cordy should play over him in the secondary but slotting Cordy at two spots on the 2 deep and Bradshaw nowhere felt a little curious. Another note on the OL: I love Servais at LT and think that's the right move by Dino, but I would have loved to keep Adams at RG. Having two knowns on one side of the line and two unknowns on the other has me a little worried. Davis is a road grader and Vettorrello could be a beast, but if we plan to shuffle the OL around then I would have loved to keep it more balanced at least to start.
