Cuse/Clemson television ratings

This is painful to see. What an opportunity we had to change the national perception.

I'm sure that Cuse Nation helped boost those numbers as well, particularly those who would have otherwise done other things two or three seasons ago after the first few drives. We may not travel well in the minds of some people, or show up on Saturdays, but we have a lot of fans out there with big TV's. :)

It was definitely a missed opportunity for a program changing win, but, it was still very positive. Most fans can see something is in the works here. I even had a random Clemson fan on the golf course talk about how he loves Dino last week. Also, remember that they were 25pt favorites and most thought we would get crushed.

I don't see the downside here. They were all tuning in to our game because Clemson was losing.

0-56 and then no one is watching.
It's a glass half empty view, but we had an opportunity to change EVERYONE'S point of view. Yes, we are getting love, but there is still a lot of "Maybe Clemson isn't as good as we thought they were" takes I've read from the national media.

We beat them last year and didn’t change everyone’s opinion. One game doesn’t change things good or bad, win or lose. If we win more games than not the rest of the season we will look like we are back in the spotlight for most people.

The week 5 game last year on ABC at noon was Northwestern vs Wisconsin. Final numbers were 1.9 rating share and 2.9 million viewers.

Overnights rarely match the final numbers, but anywhere close to a 3.3 share and the 4.7 million viewers this article seems to be hinting at would be phenomenal.

In context, the best TV numbers I have involving Syracuse since joining the ACC was our 2014 game against ND that was played in the 5th week like yesterday's game but at 8PM on ABC receiving a 2.6 share and 4.0 million viewers.

Cheers,
Neil

And the person who wrote the article takes the position that the ratings were so high because Clemson football is so fun to watch. Uh, no, a huge part of the country tuned in hoping to see them get knocked off.

We need to finish the year strong. We want to change perception... Get 10+ wins with the only loss or losses being to ranked teams on the road.

I’ve never been a “respond to some imbecile’s post on another forum” kinda guy, but some genius under the thread; “Cuse has knocked out our QB”- had the cujones to suggest that SU football, under HCs Schafer and Dino, INTENTIONALLY told our players to “get dirty” and target Clemson players. That we preach hurting other teams, as a culture in the program.
Probably should have left it alone, but dammnit I just had to say something.
Here in Charlotte since yesterday, I’ve heard and seen nothing but good things from Clemson fans. They love Dino and his speeches, etc.
Guess I’m still just a little bit salty cause, dagnabit, we shoulda, coulda, woulda pulled the upset. Anyway, mea culpa for sinking to that level...the whole “lay down w/ dogs” thingy.

Yankee Stadium game against the domers now looms huge... Another marquis oppo.

They smoked Stanford yesterday and looked all the part of a top 5 team.

Oh, and Ped St losing in happy valley to the U in the final minutes was good see. I still despise them from when we used to play them regularly b4 the big east...
