Dungey will always go down as a beloved player in Syracuse history.  His guts and toughness are legendary.  But his perception within the fanbase is skewed because he is the beneficiary of 1) a radically different system that inflates offensive numbers relative to Syracuse history and 2) a long run of staggeringly bad QB at the school (including terrible depth behind him).  Dungey is a nice enough college QB - which is an impressive achievement in its own right (most recruited QB's don't see meaningful snaps).  But he lacks above average arm strength, which can be made up for with anticipation and accuracy, but he isn't very accurate and he doesn't anticipate well because he is always looking to bail and run.  He's a good runner, but his tendency to bail - even when the line is holding up - makes him easier to defend.

Getting a strong armed and accurate guy like Devito in there is going to truly be a sight to behold.
