Does Dungey lack an elite ability to read opposing defenses?  Yep.  Can Devito visually pick apart opposing D's?  We hear that he can, but again, nothing in a game yet.

Dungey also has an innate, unteachable ability to make plays with his feet and get creative when things break down.  He has a boatload of athleticism and we've seen it on display countless times.  Sure, he might take off early more often than we would like to see, but it's not like he's been playing with an army of above-average players either.  His line play has been suspect and we lack any semblance of a run game.  Without Dungey, we wouldn't have had a prayer in any of those big wins the last 2 years.  Do not kid yourself.  Hard to see Devito being this effective when things break down, but time will tell.

I hope that Dungey plays 14 games this year.  We should all hope that he does.  I also hope that Devito will be ready to live up to his lofty expectations when his time is called.  I have blind faith that Devito will be pretty good, but we should also be happy that we've got Dungey for another year.

And for the record, I would be shocked if Dungey ever plays on Sundays.  Regardless of his impressive ability as a healthy college football player, he just simply doesn't translate well to the next level.  I hope I'm wrong.
