(2) Marek Dolezaj: +6.5 points (+1.1 O, +5.4 D). +0.115 WS (4th)
Offensively, both players were low usage with high turnover rate and no shot, but they both shot a high percentage, drew FTs, with Dolezal passing well and Chukwu hitting the offensive glass well. Average offensively plus great-to-fantastic defensively would make these two top players: and might make Chukwu the team's best.

Both metrics like Brissett's defense, with WSs rating him roughly Chukwu level defensively and also rating him Cuse's 2nd best performer. Despite drawing a ton of fouls, both systems rate Brissett only above average offensively because of poor shooting rates and mediocre passing. Battle is rated by both systems as having a similar positive impact as Brissett, but led by offensive rather than defense. Battle's all around game still rates well offensively, but (like other high usage players Howard and Brissett) is plagued by low shooting percentage. Howard has the worst WS score of the team's 8 main players. His WS score gets hurt quite a bit by his high minutes, given that his offensive effectiveness may be more in line with typical 1st guard off the bench quality. Plus/minus is more forgiving towards his O, giving him some credit for being betting than the club's alternatives. Howard rated well by both systems defensively.

As others have noted, Sidibe might be set for a breakout if he can stay healthy, as his scores were dragged down by the things that tend to improve alot 2nd year: foul rate, turnover rate and FT rate. Sidibe rates as a quality defender, but it is no surprise his ratings were low this year given a 45% FT conversion (drawing a lot of fouls) and 28% turnover rate. For Moyer and Washington, the metrics are also a bit promising. Everyone already knew the pair would have poor offensive ratings from this past year, but both came in strong enough on defensive metrics to suggest a performance level slightly better than our average opponent. Moyer and Washington have much harder paths towards being average offensively (or well above) than Sidibe, while both can expect their turnover problems to moderate as they mature, Moyer will likely need to get more O boards (just 7.6%) and Washington will obviously need to improve his shooting.
And fwiw Elijah Hughes posted a plus/minus of -0.2 points last season (-0.4 O, +0.2 D) with a +0.101 WS, similar shooting struggles to Washington but defense and passing rated lower.
