I got an e-mail from 'cuse nation highlighting a video on Richardson. First of all, the site lists him as a small forward, (7th in the nation) while almost all the comments here have been him as a 2G or even some PG. He seems small (light) for a SF especially in the SU defense. What are the possibilities of him playing there or will he be strictly a 2G. There are a whole sorts of possibilities.

The 2nd comment is the video comments on his and his mothers opinions of the importance of a degree. How likely is it that MG is a 4 year player.

I don't think I've ever heard anybody around here call him a PG or a guy who would be any PG. If he comes as advertised I can see him being here for 2 years, if he has a average 2 years who knows, he could end up being here four, nobody really knows. I can't see him being a one in done as I don't know where he is going to have a chance to showcase his talents for more than 15 minutes a game.

I'm hoping one lineup that will be investigated for next year involves MG, Cooney, and MR all on the court at the same time. I think in that scenario MR would be the SF. I think if you had those 3 with DC2 and Roberson we would have some offense for a change. A little small inside, but potent.

I thought MR was slated to be the heir apparent to Cooney at 2G. But things have changed. We will be losing MG and hopefully picking up either Battle or Simmons. We look to be lacking at the SF.

I never thought of MR as a 4 year player. At one point I thought 2 years, with the first year being "boeheimed" behind Cooney and then exploding when he got his opportunity (the MCW model). But if KJ2 doesn't improve significantly and JB is forced to prematurely play MR, we may never get to see the highly anticipated Battle/Richardson backcourt.

If we play Richardson at 2G, we're playing him out of position and probably giving up a lot on the defensive end and in rebounding. Gbinije is technically out of postion at SF but he's found a way to make it work, so who knows.

Next season, Malachi will be the backup SG and I wouldn't expect him to play much SF unless Joseph really struggles and we go with a G, Cooney, Richardson lineup mentioned above. After G and Cooney are gone, Moyer, Lydon, Diagne, and Roberson will be our forwards. Depending on whether or not we land one of the big name guards we're going after, like Battle, I wouldn't expect Malachi to play much or start at SF.

Even in a G, Cooney, Mal lineup I would expect G to play the SF on defense because he has experience there and then he would play the PG on offense. I'd also wonder about using Lydon as the other forward because then you can post Coleman go three out and put the ball in G's hands.

He's 6-6, 210. He's definitely not too small, at least in terms of measurables. But I don't see him ever playing SF.

MR doesn't have the handle to be a PG and can't rebound well enough to be a SF. Strictly a 2G.

Web site says 6'5", 175# big difference from your numbers. (http://syracuse.At their request, t...266-5-star-malachi-richardson-is-smooth?s=185) Though in the analysis it does say 6'6" frame and he added more than 15# his sr year. And it says SF. That is why I am asking the questions.
