“LSU and Syracuse are of the first group of colleges entering into the NFT arena meaningfully. We believe that their partnerships will only increase fan involvement and reach, while ushering in other universities,” said Trevor George, Co-CEO of RECUR. “The relationship with BrandR group allows us to create new promotional opportunities for student athletes who can now marry NFTs using university IP with athletes’ NIL. We’re very excited for what’s ahead.”

Serious fundraiser idea. Otto the orange NFT’s. Create multiple different traits and rarities and have a price set to mint them. If you get lucky and mint a rare one it comes with an attached perk and what not. Could easily make hundreds of thousands on it

Love this idea. Super creative and would get free attention too. Natural build onto the new fundraising campaigns AD is kicking off. You should email Andrew Goodrich in the AD's office the idea/concept. They're obviously embracing it in terms of NIL and it should be considered for fundraising too.

I definitely will! My job currently is all NFT’s so I have a bunch of these ideas all floating around to be used by them

Don't understand that whole world but if the University can make money off it more power to them.
There's an emerging market and the collectibles/sports world is huge connection to push. Being an early mover here is really important too.

Licensed NFT's is tricky stuff so this sounds like a nice first step.

FloridaFan Explain to me like I'm a Rutgers grad what an NFT is?
I think we are too far away to communicate with smoke signals like they do but basically it’s a proof of ownership on a blockchain. A virtual deed of ownership. When you buy the NFT photo or video you typically are getting the rights to that thing. Say clemson made an NFT of TL throwing a touchdown. Normally that grants you the rights to use that video however you eant with no repurcussions. Of course there are exceptions and other various cases. But that is the basics

Your job is all NFTs?
Yes. I currently work for a few people who owns sets of NFT’s that are like pokemon called axie. We have people use those NFT’s to earn crypto currency and I manage the creation of new teams as well as handle the people. I also help manage virtual horse nft’s

What's to prevent people from just using the image that you purchased as an NFT?

Nothing really. But that’s the wrong way of looking at it. Say you buy an artwork from an auction for thousands of dollars. Sure someone else can just make a copy of it and hang it up in their house but thats just a copy. While you own the original piece itself which carries the actual value of the piece with the NFT versus just the copy of the JPEG or video
