In an a good article describing the dominance and consistency of KY, Bilas indicates that the only team close is 'Cuse...no others come close to these two. It is going to be a great game if these two teams meet...infact, it looks like the game will be very close within 3-5 pts...I am betting 'Cuse!
Bilas:
"It is generally true that the best teams are consistent, something most people instinctively understand. Good teams are those that take care of business and don't have lapses that get our ESPN analysts questioning their heart or toughness. This instinct shows up in the numbers, too. Among the top 75 teams in BPI, the seven most consistent are also the top seven teams in our rankings. Compared to Kentucky's 4.9 variation, though, only Syracuse's 5.8 variation is close, with the others having values between 9 and 10. Kansas, Ohio State, Michigan State, North Carolina and Duke all have had either a really bad loss or several mediocre games. "
