How neat would it beat to get revenge 25 years later in the same building.

It would be the biggest ratings in the history of the tourney, maybe except Bird/Magic.

I'll be rooting for Indiana to make it to the title game and have Triche knock down the winner...

Uncle Howie missed a huge FT in the last 90 seconds iirc.

I would have to root for the Cuse even though I grew up a Hoosier. As a fan though, just like 1987, I really couldn't lose.

Interesting...it could happen...after watching both their victories against UK and OSU, they appear to be a legit FF team.

I had the same convo with my friend (who graduated from IU) last night...

I think we'd beat them bad

IU has not true point guard until next season when they have a 5* kid out of Indy. What they have done this year is pretty impressive, but they lack the talent right now to be a top 10 team.

Um wat

Do you really think this?

Maybe Indiana could set 25 uncalled moving screens - again.

Outside of Syracuse and IU, it's just another mildly intriguing title matchup.

You honestly think, in the year of child molestation scandals, with Syracuse and Bernie Fine a big component, a SYR team in the National Championship would not be covered by all outlets, at length? Then throw in a rematch of two teams meeting 25 years later, in the same location, in what was one of the best championship games of all time. This would not even yet factor in IU's rise back to the major stage.

That game would be top 5 in terms of ratings, no doubt.

The Magic-Bird game had 35 million viewers. The final has been over 20 million one time in the last decade.

No NCAA title game this year is going to come anywhere close to the top 5 of all time, which is upwards of 30 million people.

I don't think any SU title game is going to do appreciably better than the title games the last few years, so call it 20 million at best.

I'm sure they'd mention it. It gets mentioned from time to time already. They'd probably hype the game up using the '87 game.

Of course they would. That was sarcasm for our perpetually grouchy friend.

Um wat

IU has not true point guard... What's the matter with that? Haha, it's a typo!!! IU has no true point guard. They do have a 5 star PG enrolling with the 2012 class out of Indianapolis.

That comment was with respect to not having enough talent to be top 10...clearly they do as the Kentucky and OSU games demonstrate.

I disagree even though I hope I'm wrong because I'm from Indiana and I have loved Hossier hoops all my life. IMO next year they will be a legitimate top 10. This year they are much improved, very competitive with top ranked teams and obviously deserve to be ranked.

A friend of mine back home in Indiana posted this on FB.
