Cute story about NBA stars who live with "Mom" ...

Thanks, Joyce. Any way to access this article outside the site and its paywall? The first sentence looked promising.
Didn't realize there was a paywall because I have posted WSJ articles here that CAN be accessed. Weird.

Anyhow, it is a really fun article.

A great article about the stabilizing influence of moms (and family) on young NBA players. Portland's success has been attributed to this! It reminded me of the article about MCW whom I believe lived with his step-father while he was in Philly. Don't know what he is doing now. But I hope he's still watching "Ellen" every day! What is the great Yiddish saying? "Oedipus, Shmoedipus, so long as he loves his mother."

I could have easily copied the article and pasted it on here, but then I thought the Feds might come and get me. I don't have a subscription to the WSJ but it was easily available on my computer.

Dads are great and very important - but there is no replacing a Mother. That is just 1 of those facts of life.

You can usually get around the WSJ paywall by copying the title of the article and googling it, the link on google will not bring up the paywall

When my brother was very little I overheard him telling mom that he was going to marry her when he grew up. Mom asked him what dad would do. Without missing a beat, he said, "Oh, he will be in the cemetery."
