The DA and SPD are in a pissing contest.
Yes. Really not the time for either bunch to be grandstanding, but that's all this is.
Please flash back to the scenario where the football players were handcuffed at/after the practice. Conflict over that occurrence as well. The DA and SPD are in a pissing contest.
Did I read that right? The DA wants all evidence to go to a GJ already? If so how can a judge rule that? First it is an ongoing investigation that has been less than a week. Second the alleged offense is past the SOL. How can it even go to a GJ?
Most deff an attention whore. Never saw a camera or newspaper he didn't love.I don't live in Syracuse and haven't in 16 years, so I'm curious to hear from the folks that live there - is Fitzpatrick basically good at his job? My general impression thus far is that he's an attention whore, but that doesn't necessarily impact his effectiveness.
you nailed it,i had a family member a few years back accused of a crime that could have never happened due to a previous medical condition and good ole fitzzy ignored the condition and went public anyways.charges were dropped after costing her many thousands
While I think the likelihood of Davis telling the truth is low, I think the likelihood of a guy like Fitzpatrick ignoring that fact so he can get some camera-love is high. So I don't think this is a situation where Bernie can feel all that confident things will work out OK, regardless of his guilt or innocent.
I'm feeling more and more like Bernie Fine is going to end up collateral damage in a whole bunch of people's battle for attention...which really is a shame regardless of his guilt or innocence because we're going to effectively watch a witch trial get conducted. Sort of undermines the entire purpose of our legal system.
I dunno; to answer your earlier question, he is darn good at his job - especially since he's working in a small and somewhat corrupt fishbowl of a city. Some of the ADAs are a different story entirely, but while Fitzpatrick is rather opinionated and secure enough in his job to act without regard for proper procedure (in terms of his grandstanding, not in terms of his legal work), he takes pride in his work and does a good job. Actually, most of those traits listed above are ones he shares with Boeheim.
