I don't actually think it's totally fair because of the way they schedule, they make it tougher there than need be.  But if they are serious about not being passed by Pitt, BC, Syracuse, NCSU, and even Duke, London should be feeling some pressure.
 
I hate to feel this way, because I don't as a person, but as a football fan the ACC schools have traditionally held on to coaches at least a year or two too long.  The SEC has let guys go a year or so too early sometimes.
 
As a human, I want guys to get an extra chance...but the bottom line is in the last 20 years, there just hasn't been many examples of guys given that extra time that made it worth it.  Just drives the program further down.  You probably need to go back to Frank Beamer at VT to find a guy where patience was rewarded in this conference.  Everything else has been just forestalling the inevitable and making the situation worse.
 
Unfortunately in the same time period in the SEC, there are countless firings that you could easily characterise as being two early or a guy not getting a fair chance.  And in all cases except Tennessee (post Fulmer) the team has benefited from the removal and equalled or reached new heights. 
 
It's a sad and unfortunate truth...but in college football it bears out that if the guy isn't clearly the right guy after 2-3 years...he's almost certainly not the right guy.
