Daemen vs UB, Monday 10/23

Daemen is a good D2 team with some good players. Will be a good matchup vs UB and vs us.
They return all of their starters from last year so they will have a lot more experience playing together than our team has. Conversely, St Rose next week has a new roster so theoretically shouldn't provide as strong a challenge.

Should be interesting seeing the 2 Shumpert brothers (Preston’s sons) from local high school Jamesville-Dewitt who both transferred from Stony Brook to Daemen.

The kid from New Hartford on Daemen is a D1 caliber player. He absolutely dominated Grimes when I watched him this season. I'm surprised he didn't go Bertram/Policelli route and go prep.

Daemen was winning by 4 with just over 2 minutes to go, but UB put together a 9-0 spurt late to beat them 71-67.

And now they have the advantage of having an exhibition game under their belt. This is not your normal really bad team we are playing in exhibition game 1. I hope we come to play.

The Shumperts were not a factor.

Daemen outrebounded UB.

They did not turn the ball over much.

If they had a decent day shooting, they would have won pretty easily.
