1 - I have never used the term or considered the team to be the "Syracuse Orange".  I may have yelled "Let's Go Orange" or said casually "The Orange" looked good last night.  But that was just a shortening of the name.  A nickname for the name like Pat instead of Patrick, or Nick instead of Nicholas.  I never considered actually changing March 17th to St Pat's Day.  They are and always will be the Orangemen to me. 
2 - Pretty sure Otto was around way before before the name change. 
3 - I have never once in my life, upon hearing the term Orangemen conjured up in my mind anything to do with American Indians.  I hear Orangemen and I think about college kids playing football, basketball, lacrosse, etc running around in orange and white uniforms (and sometimes blue for some reason).  
4 - I started following the team around 1978.  The only Saltine Warrior I remember looked like a reject from a toga party running around with a sword.

5. People are way too sensitive today.  Honestly when I hear Redskin I only think of a sports team. Live in the now not the past.   
6 . Why don't we go back to Orangemen and have a bunch of guys dressed like this, pretty classy if you ask me...
