DaJuan Coleman projected to be 7th best center in country

I hope at some point next year JB decides to go big with CJ at the 2 and Rak, Keita and Coleman all in some combo of 3/4/5. It would be interesting to see the zone in that set for a possession or two.

I wish we didn't have to discuss this every season. This will only happen if injury requires it. When I forward plays up top they don't get back on defense as quickly and we get scored on in transition. We would also only have one ball handler to beat a press. So whether it is CJ this year or Southerland last year or Joseph two years ago. It is not something we will do.

I hope DC2 makes that leap that would be awesome. If he could somehow be quick enough to play one of the two wing positions that would be awesome. Not for a large portion of the game but for 5-10 minutes. Like Jackson did with AO.

Did you see where I said "a possession or two"? I agree. It would be a disaster offensively.

I missed that part sorry. I'm a little sensitive when it comes to this subject since I feel like it's something that's overly discussed.

well, even though he is over 7 feet, JG is fast enough to get back on ;)

Surprising rank until you look at the list and then its kind of like WOW if he really gets it he could be even betterthan 7th.

I think its more likely to see a lineup of BJ(if his isolation game and a quick defensive first lateral step is there) Gbinije, and Fair at the 1,2,3. :D

That has some serious street cred . . .

Perhaps if they played man to man ;)

But where will he rank among the centers in Syracuse?

good question. this is obviously very much based on a projection that assumes coleman will make a big sophomore jump, and also kind of implicitly assumes Christmas does not take a big step forward this year. but I think it's possible that either of those two guys could surpass keita, who I think was playing the best of all our centers by last march. though what i'd like to see is keita hit the gym hard and put on some weight over the summer. if he's able to do that, it might take a fab melo type jump I think for coleman to overtake keita! keita's got such a great motor I don't think putting on 10 or 15 pounds of muscle will slow him up too much. but in any case, it'll be a lot of fun to watch how the center position plays out next fall.
